Honey, we’re having a homebirth.

Have you had this conversation at your place?

Thank you to those families who shared such intimate images.

I hope it can be a part of more conversations about birth as a family
event rather than a medical management bonanza.

Glad you all like it. :)

The music is Barbara Bonney singing “Morgen” R.Strauss, Ops 27, No. 4. There’s also an arrangement for voice and orchestra but I prefer the spare perfection of the piano version.

This video actually gives me a lot of anxiety. While I understand some of the benefits of a home birth, I also worry about emergency medical care for the babies if necessary. Additionally, some women are just not built for the birthing process and in some cases may need an emergency c-section for the life of her child and her own. Was the hospital a more regimented experience, yes, but it gave me comfort to know my child would have immediate care if she needed it.

Hi Nicole and thanks for dropping by. :) The montage makes you anxious? I wonder what that means to you? I also wonder on reading your comment which women you feel are “just not built for the birthing process”?
